Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo

Pack it with pink Friday night, July 22, 2011! The Kaw Valley Rodeo Association will host the 5th annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo during the Riley County Fair at CiCo Park in Manhattan, to raise awareness of breast and other cancers, and funds for cancer research at K-State.

The rodeo begins at 8 p.m. with a spectacular pink balloon launch and recognition ceremony during the grand entry, to honor all who have ever faced cancer. Rodeo participants and spectators alike wear pink…even the horses!

Below are some related events to watch for:

  • Spaghetti Buffet by former Gilio’s owner Chef Drew Zink & Cox Bros.
    4:30-7 p.m., Sun July 10, First Presbyterian Church Family Center, 801 Leavenworth. Get tickets in advance by calling our center at 785-532-6705.
    (Proceeds go to Johnson Cancer Research Center.)

  • Junior Rodeo at Manhattan Town Center – Sat July 16
  • Steak Fry & Live Auction for KVRA and their Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign (special, pink auction items) at RC McGraw’s (tix sold in advance) – Sun July 17
  • Riley Co. Fair parade on Poyntz Ave. – Thu July 21
  • Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo in Wells Arena – Fri July 22
    (Proceeds go to Johnson Cancer Research Center.)
