Fri., Oct. 14, 11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Holiday Inn at the Campus
1641 Anderson Ave. (across from K-State Union), Manh., Kan.

Aribel León-Lynn, who moved to Ft. Riley from Panama at age 12, was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 34. During her treatment she started painting, for the first time in her life. Her beautiful paintings have been displayed at several galleries and events from Kansas City to Junction City. She is currently working on a book highlighting her breast cancer journey as presented through her paintings and poetry. She considers herself a conduit for informing women of all ages and backgrounds about breast cancer.

Information on breast cancer and resources, including the Kansas Early Detection Works program, will also be presented by the event’s sponsors, K-State’s Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research and Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Participants will receive a soup & salad lunch, a souvenir item, educational materials and goodies, and prizes will be given away.

This event is free but space is limited and reservations are required by Oct 7. Call or email Marcia at the Johnson Cancer Research Center, 532-6705, to reserve your spot or learn more.

We would so appreciate if you’d help us spread the word with this downloadable flier.

We thank Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for making this event possible.
