Friday night, July 22, 2011, the 5th annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo will be hosted by the Kaw Valley Rodeo Association during the Riley County Fair, to raise awareness of breast and other cancers, and funds for cancer research at K-State. Even the horses wear pink!

“The Future of Cancer Research and Treatment in Kansas” will be presented by Barbara F. Atkinson, MD, Exec. Vice Chancellor of the KU Medical Center and Exec. Dean of the KU School of Medicine, on Sept. 28.
Red State Blues Band played at 7-9 p.m. on Sun. Sept. 26 at the Wareham Opera House, “to celebrate the life of Deb Lundberg and raise money to beat the disease that took her away from us.”
The Johnson Cancer Center hosted the “Think Pink” quilt show throughout October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Check out pics of the quilts here.
The second annual “In the Pink“ breast cancer awareness luncheon was Wed Oct 14, 2009. There were speakers, lunch, prizes and goodie bags.
Participants at this conference chose from various women’s health and wellness presentations, enjoyed a healthy breakfast with other great ladies, got wellness tests and massages, and won prizes!
The Manhattan Cancer Awareness Committee hosted the In the Pink luncheon for breast cancer awareness at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan.
The 4th annual Hot Topics: For Women Only health education event called Chicks’ Night Out was held Saturday evening, Sept. 20, 2008, in Junction City, and was a huge success!
