“It is assumed that providing access for cancer patients living in sparsely populated areas, to medical care that can only be received at a center some distance away, is a real challenge to many people. Developing a new transportation program will require varied leadership skills and much persistence. I am first interested in testing the assumption that there is a real need. Then various critical thinking paths need to be followed to gather information and properly analyze it following brainstorming innovative solutions. It is an opportunity to use practical leadership to address an issue faced by many people in rural areas.”
