“A primary interest of mine is evaluating the genetic expression of cancers in animals, especially cats with lymphoma. In general, the oncology group in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital focuses on diagnosis and treatment of cancer in pets. We participate in clinical trials to determine the efficacy of new treatments as well as modifications to established treatments. Proteomic and genomic evaluation of diseased lymph nodes is an ongoing area of interest. Participation with other Johnson Cancer Center members in the area of stem cells has led us to pursue the use of this technology for treatment in dogs and cats.”
