THE PURPOSE

The purpose of this motorcycle riding event is to raise awareness and  funds for K-State student and faculty researchers to cure cancer in our lifetime. While collecting pledges is not required, you can help reach the goal of $100,000 by collecting pledges to fund research, equipment and student awards. Your support will help train the next generation of scientists and provide information and resources for people to understand and fight cancer.

THE PROCESS

Register, recruit and ride! Register yourself and your passenger if you have one. If you choose, recruit sponsors to support you by the mile or with a flat donation. Ride as much as you can from Aug. 1 to Sept. 17 (a great goal is 500 miles). And then celebrate Sept. 17!

REGISTER ONLINE

  • Single Rider $40  |  EARLY BIRD (by July 31) $35
  • Rider + Passenger $50  |  EARLY BIRD (by July 31) $45
  • $0 to collect pledges only

Registration by (August 1st) guarantees you a T-shirt, patch and participation in the Celebration Event Sat., Sept. 17.

THE CHALLENGE IF YOU CHOOSE

Recruit sponsors

Riders recruit sponsors for their ride. Sponsors pledge a dollar amount per mile or a flat donation.

  • Ask 50 individuals for a $20 pledge
  • Ask individuals, organizations or businesses to pledge $100
  • Ask individuals, organizations or businesses to pledge $1-2 for every mile you ride from Aug. 1 to Sept. 17 (goal=500 miles)

Just imagine, if 100 riders participate and do any of the above, we could easily reach our $100,000 goal!

Collect pledges if you choose

Sponsors' pledges can be fulfilled in three ways:

  • Donate Online
  • Rider completes Sponsor Pledge Form and collects donation checks from sponsors to turn in to the center
  • Riders or Sponsors mail or deliver donation checks to the Johnson Cancer Research Center

Mail: Cancer Research Fund, KSU Foundation, PO Box 9200, Shawnee Mission, KS  66201-1800

Deliver: Johnson Cancer Research Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, 1711 Claflin Rd. Two free guest parking spaces are in Lot A18 just east of Chalmers Hall on the south side of Claflin Rd. Call if need details.

Sponsor forms and donations must be received either by mail by Sept. 16 or in-person at the Celebration Event Sept. 17. This will allow riders who raised the most money to be recognized at the celebration event.

THE CELEBRATION - Sat., Sept. 17, 2022 -OPEN TO ALL!

On Sept. 17, riders are invited to enjoy a morning 70 mile ride in the Flint Hills (map available at the Manhattan Arts Center on Sept 17) and then celebrate their accomplishments at a tailgate party at Manhattan Arts Center, 1520 Poyntz Ave.! T-shirts and patches will be distributed and a drawing will be held for two K-State vs. Tulane football game tickets. Individuals and teams will be recognized for pledges collected and miles ridden. Food and drink vendors will be present.
