My research addresses the fundamental question of integrating data with first-principle multiscale physiochemical models to understand and predict the cancer dynamics across multiple biological scales in space and time and drug distribution in the human body. The resulting hybrid data-assisted models (digital twins of cancer dynamics in the human body) require significantly fewer patient data for personalized predictions of the key in vivo properties over a wide range of conditions. Furthermore, such a computational framework enables (1) simulating experimental procedures to optimize and predict clinical therapies and outcomes and (2) evaluating and refining medical hypotheses.
