"My research expertise lies in youth health behavior change toward the primary prevention of cancer. The focus of my research is on the identification of modifiable influences of healthful eating, physical activity, (not) smoking, and sun protection among youth. Once identified, these modifiable influences are used to design, evaluate, and disseminate interventions designed to promote health and prevent cancer. Through this public health primary prevention framework, my studies have been set in after-school programs, Girl Scout troops, organized sport, schools, summer programs, and homes."
