Dr. Trinetta is an expert in food safety and public health. Her research focuses on the role of foodborne pathogens and antimicrobial resistance in a
globalized world, particularly their impact on the human gut microbiome and implications for anticancer drug resistance—a major global public health
challenge. Additionally, her work explores the potential of commercially beneficial bacteria, such as lactic acid bacteria, to positively influence the
intestinal microbiome during food consumption and the impact on chronic diseases.
